Czas na obiad / Dinner time and Blog Writing Tour

Dziś przepisu nie będzie, ale w zamian serwuję Wam pyszne zdjęcia :-)

There will be not recipe today, but instead I'm serving you some delicious photos and I'm inviting you join in the fun of blog writing tour.

I was asked by Derik from magnificent blog House of Bakes to answer a few questions about my blogging. I immediately jump into the occasion, especially since Derik wrote so many nice things about skoraq cooks (you can read his entry in blog writing tour here: click). In this particular moment I want to thank Derik for his invitation to join the Blog Writing Tour and for so many nice words about my work.

I discovered Derik on Instagram. Photos are usually the thing that is the most captivating for me on Instagram, but Derik amazed me with something more. He shared soooo many pics of his own

sourdough breads and beers, all homemade. Seriously. In the era of store-bought stuff the guy that cares enough to make his own is immediately getting my full attention. At some point Derik have decided to start his blog House of bakes and I believe it's brilliant idea, cause now he's sharing not only great photos but also bread baking skills, seasoned with occasional recipes for delicious desserts and other stuff. I believe that at some point Derik is going to create a bread baking bible and I'm so keeping my fingers crossed for him and his bread oriented projects. Not only an active Instagramer and blogger, but also an active socializer that with other foodies decided to give life to another wonderful project called Spoonful of Foodies. In other words, everything that Derik touches turns into success. I could praise Derik for hours, but now let's make a little break and focus on my blog. I prepared some answers giving you the idea of what skoraq cooks is all about and what are the motivations behind the blog.

1. What am I working on?
My blog is all about food that can be easily and also quickly prepared at home without sophisticated equipment whatsoever. I present a variety of recipes that are based on seasonal ingredients, most of them being vegetarian and some of them also vegan. I also work on some photography projects and from time to time I share only delicious photos that are not followed by recipes.

2.  How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I put a lot of energy into testing my recipes, so readers are provided with recipes that work and can be replicated many times without any mishaps. I also put a lot of effort into making food look good on photos, cause we eat not only with out mouths but also with our eyes.

3. Why do I write what I do?
I want to show my readers that home-made food can be simple, easy, delicious and in the same time healthy and natural. I also want to prove that juggling a few careers and having a hectic life does not necessarily mean that one forgets where the kitchen is located in the house.

4.  How does your writing process work?
My writing process is a bit complicated and time consuming. First of all I have to have in mind the recipe. Sometimes I'm inspired by other bloggers' recipes but quite often I invent my own. Then comes the shopping and the cooking. Sometimes I have to test the recipe several times to adjust the proportions and sometimes recipes do not deserve to be featured at all on the blog. Yes, it happens ;-). Then comes food styling and photoshoots that take quite a lot of time. I end up editing photos and writing recipes both in Polish and English, so that they can be enjoyed by more readers. That's it. A piece of cake, isn't it? ;-)

Now it's time to share another wonderfully delicious blog. I'm more than sure that you will definitely enjoy recipes that you can find on Pepper Punch blog  written by Karolina. She is writing her blog in Polish and English, as I do, and her vivid photos always amaze me, since they are not only beautiful but also delicious. Let fresh strawberry cocktail with a cranberry tea be the perfect example :-) I hope you will be able to read more about her writing process soon :-)
